UPDATED MEMO TO SUBSTITUTES
Please be advised that the Eastern School District will be accepting applications for the substitute list for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year beginning on Monday, October 26, 2009.
Applications will be accepted through the Eastern School District's web site at www.esdnl.ca under the employment tab.
New teachers wishing to apply to work as a substitute in the school year 2009-2010 must submit copies of their University Transcript(s), Newfoundland Teaching Certificate and a Certificate of Conduct with a completed Vulnerable Sector Query (updated within the previous six months), to the district headquarters in St. John's. Incomplete packages will not be considered.
Please note that teachers approved to the substitute list in previous years are only required to submit a Certificate of Conduct with a completed Vulnerable Sector Query (updated within the previous six months).
Substitutes will be notified by e-mail when they have been approved to the list. It is the responsibility of potential substitutes to ensure that their profiles are up to date and that they have properly applied to the appropriate region, school(s) and speciality for which they are qualified.

RETIRED TEACHERS: As per the Department of Education policy, retired teachers have to be approved by the Minister of Education prior to being approved for substituting. Please e-mail Lillian Crane, Human Resources Manager (Education) to have your name submitted for approval.
